No doubt, the home of the CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP is the race track. It starts in the same class as the regular Fireblade, but differs from it with Öhlins Smart Electronic Control (S-EC) suspension, Brembo master cylinder, brake lever, front and rear brake calipers and the standard quickshifter. The engine with “Semi-Cam” camshaft drive is characterized by a peak power of 160 kW, which is unrivaled in this class and now ensures even faster acceleration in the low and medium speed range. The HSTC traction control (Honda Selectable Torque Control) has also been revised. Equipped with a lighting system, turn signals and SMART Key, the Fireblade SP is fully street legal – and still the ultimate racing motorcycle.

The 4-2-1 exhaust system with a newly developed middle section uses manifolds with an oval cross-section. This ensures maximum exhaust throughput and maximum performance. At the end sits an equally efficient and compact Akrapovic titanium silencer.

The standard quickshifter is now even faster. The fuel injection is interrupted for a shorter time during the gear change and the torque transmission then continues more smoothly. Every gear change means a speed advantage.

The 1,000cc engine’s intake ports, airbox, 4-2-1 exhaust and gearbox deliver even greater low-to-mid-range acceleration. The peak power of 160 kW at 14,500 revolutions per minute is simply enormous. The new HSTC software optimizes the throttle response as well as the feel for traction.

The semi-active Öhlins S-EC suspension reacts incredibly precisely. Compression damping minimizes cavitation on the 43 mm NPX inverted telescopic fork, which contributes to more stable control, improved shock absorption at high speeds and better feedback.
