Efficient new engine and five-speed gearbox
The Monkey’s all-new, air-cooled, EURO5-compliant 125cc engine has been tuned for smooth and flexible urban handling. This machine is also economical thanks to low-friction technologies and PGM-FI fuel injection. The five-speed gearbox is controlled via the clutch, like on a large motorcycle. The extra gear makes longer journeys even more fun.
Who knows where the Monkey will take you. So we made sure it was robust – just in case. The steel frame together with the oval swingarm ensure strength and stability. The upside-down front fork is coated with high-quality Alumite and matches the two rear two-stage shock absorbers with a travel of 104mm for even more comfort. The wide 12-inch lugged tires ensure a smooth ride, as does the soft, high-density urethane foam seat.
Exciting style, new colors
Our Monkey for the 21st century is reminiscent of the original with high-slung chrome-plated steel fenders front and rear, exhaust finisher and towering handlebars. To give it the perfect modern touch, we’ve introduced three new color options to customize your bike.
Complete LED lighting
So that the Monkey stands out even more from the crowd, we have given it full LED lighting, including for the indicators. And the key features a feedback system that flashes the lights at the touch of a button. So you will always find your Monkey in a parking lot.
The looks are retro, but the round instrument cluster is LCD-based and features a speedometer (which cheekily lights up when the ignition is switched on), an odometer with dual trip meters, and a fuel gauge.
IMU controlled ABS braking
Incidentally, there is also a clever mind behind the exciting exterior of the Monkey: The single-channel ABS is controlled by an Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU), so that the rear of the motorcycle does not lift even under heavy braking. A 220 mm brake disc at the front and a 190 mm brake disc at the rear ensure reliable braking power.
