A compact power pack

The SOHC eight-valve twin-cylinder engine delivers 75 kW with a peak torque of 105 Nm. But what really excites is the responsiveness of this engine. Thanks to the 46 mm throttle body and optimized ECU settings, every movement of the throttle has an immediate precise effect on the rear wheel. Therefore, you always benefit from optimal performance in all speed ranges, both on gravel roads and in tight serpentines.

For driving fun right up to the limit

The main frame and CRF450R-inspired aluminum swingarm are light and stiff. And for precise suspension response, the 45 mm Showa upside-down telescopic forks can be adjusted in rebound and compression. Compression and rebound can be adjusted via the Showa rear shock’s ProLink system, and spring preload can also be controlled via a dial on the shock.

Perfect balance

With the Africa Twin, you are in control. The 6-axis IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit) monitors the movement of the motorcycle during braking, cornering and acceleration. The result: ultra-precise control of the 7-stage HSTC, a 3-stage wheelie control and an ABS with cornering function. You have four preset riding modes to choose from – URBAN, TOUR, GRAVEL and OFF-ROAD – as well as two fully customizable user modes. So the motorcycle always fulfills your wishes.

Dual clutch transmission (DCT)

With the Africa Twin you can choose between the manual 6-speed gearbox or our innovative 6-speed Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT), which ensures stress-free and smooth automatic shifting. Of course, you can also use the left shift lever to change gears manually, which is particularly useful off-road. The DCT is now also optimized for low engine speed ranges in first and second gear. Off- road, the clutch slippage can be reduced using the G switch (on the TFT display), which has advantages in terms of traction and handling.
